The service

What you're actually getting, and why it works.

We do one thing: spraying. No general building, no chasing trades, just an obsessive standard of preparation and a finish that holds up in everyday use.

About Elite Refinishing

What it is

Furniture spraying is the controlled refinishing of free-standing, fitted and built-in furniture using industrial cabinet coatings, taking pieces from dated, scratched or wrong-coloured to a smooth, even, factory-style finish.

Who it's for

Homeowners refurbishing inherited furniture, interior designers updating client pieces, hospitality and short-let owners refreshing units between bookings, and anyone with fitted bedroom furniture they don't want to replace.

When you need it

When you love the piece but not the colour. When a renovation has changed the room's palette and a perfectly good wardrobe no longer fits. When a child's bedroom needs to grow up. When the dog has destroyed the legs of a sideboard you actually like.

Why it matters

Because solid furniture is increasingly rare, most off-the-shelf replacements are chipboard and foil. Spraying lets you keep the construction quality you already own and update only what's visible.

The cost of getting it wrong

The slow, expensive trap of replacing furniture.

Replacement quality is dropping

Mass-market furniture today is chipboard, MDF and foil. If your existing piece is solid timber or quality MDF, replacing it usually means downgrading the build quality.

DIY chalk paint scratches off

Chalk paint and waxes are decorative, they are not designed for handle-touched, daily-use furniture. They scratch within months, especially on wardrobes and kitchen-adjacent vanities.

Mismatched pieces destroy a room

One piece in the wrong tone makes the whole scheme look amateur. Spraying gets every piece onto the same palette.

Fitted furniture cannot easily be replaced

Built-in wardrobes and alcove units cannot be lifted out and swapped. Spraying is often the only way to update them without major joinery.

How it's done

Inside a proper furniture refinish.

Furniture is where preparation matters most, pieces are looked at up close, often in daylight, and any shortcut shows. This is how we handle yours.

Variations we cover

  • Fitted bedroom wardrobes
  • Free-standing wardrobes, dressers and chests
  • Sideboards and TV units
  • Bathroom vanities and storage
  • Office furniture and reception desks
  • Hospitality and short-let unit refresh
  • Children's furniture refinishing
  • Veneer restoration and refinishing
  • Built-in alcove units and bookcases

Assessment and disassembly

We inspect joints, hinges, runners and any veneer lifting before quoting. Handles, hinges, drawer runners and glass are removed and bagged with reference photographs.

Strip, fill, sand

Old wax and silicone are removed (the silent killer of refinishing jobs). Dents and chips are filled with two-pack filler. Surfaces are sanded through grits to give the primer a true mechanical key.

Substrate-appropriate primer

Solid wood, MDF, veneer, melamine and foil each require a different primer system. We carry all four and select on the piece.

Sprayed in colour and sheen of choice

RAL, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, designer brief or a matched chip, sprayed in matte, satin, semi-gloss or gloss.

Reassembly and protection

Hardware refitted, soft-close adjusted, glass re-set, and pieces wrapped for delivery or refitted in your home with felt-pad protection.
